From the Village of Frankfort:
The weather was perfect for an ice fest on Sunday as the Village of Frankfort opened its 2014 season of Winter on the Green.
Hundreds gathered to ride the trolley through the downtown district and view 27 professionally carved ice sculptures displayed at local businesses.
The activities on Breidert Green included a live ice sculpting demonstration, free dog sled rides and refreshments. The sculptures are also lit for night viewing.
“The ice fest continues to be a favorite among the Winter on the Green activities," said Frankfort Mayor Jim Holland. "It provides another opportunity to showcase our downtown district and businesses through the artistry of ice sculpting.”
The Winter on the Green series continues every Sunday through February 16 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM on Breidert Green in downtown Frankfort. A complete listing of the events is available on the Village website.
