Frankfort Park District Holds Scarecrow-Building Contest

Crows won't be coming anywhere close to the Frankfort Park District Founders Community Center.

By Deborah Gorchos

For the second year the Frankfort Park District held a Scarecrow Building Contest for Halloween.

Cross sticks were provided and families, groups and organizations were encouraged to take this building challenge and let their creative skills generate some eye catching entries.

The scarecrows are on display at the Frankfort Park District Founders Community Center, 140 Oak St.

Votes were cast at the Founders Community Center or on the Park District’s Facebook.com page.

The winner of the Scarecrow Building Contest was Girl Scouts Troop 815 (Breast Cancer Awareness). The Girl Scouts Troop 815 won a free Gym Rental at the Frankfort Park District and a gift certificate from Papa John’s Pizza.

The three entries were:
“Frannie” by the Frankfort Historic Business Association
“Breast Cancer Awareness” by Girl Scouts Troop 815
“Daisy” by Daisy Girl Scout Troop 386.
