Bruce Springsteen Surprises Evergreen Park Boy During Concert

The Boss pulls 10-year-old Henry Hynes on stage for "Dancing in the Dark."

Bruce Springsteen pulled a 10-year-old Evergreen Park boy from the crowd Thursday night at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville to join him on stage during "Dancing in the Dark."

Henry Hynes was at the concert with his mom, dad, his Aunt Maureen and his brother and sister, but they were spread over the arena. Henry and his aunt were way in the back, but roadies offered them a special pass to go down front.

And when Springsteen launched into "Dancing in the Dark," the rocker pointed at Henry and motioned for him to get on stage.

“I got on stage, but I lost my shoe [back in the crowd] but I started singing and then he gave me a guitar,” Henry told the Chicago Sun-Times. “I had on my Hawks jersey [his favorite player is Corey Crawford] and I think he saw it right away and I was right upfront so I think that’s why he picked me.”

He strums a little ukulele around the house but has never played guitar, said his mom, Jennifer.

“After it was over," said his mom, "Springsteen just said, ‘That is one serious man.’”
