Open House: Fire Sprinklers Donated to Paralyzed Frankfort Homeowner
On Wednesday, August 17th from noon-5:00pm, the national nonprofit Home Fire Sprinkler Coalition (HFSC) and local fire industry organizations will be hosting an open house for the first fire sprinklered accessible home in Frankfort. HFSC and numerous local organizations donated the fire sprinkler system in the home so that homeowner Dan Turner, who is paralyzed from the chest down, is protected in the case of a fire.
Tours will be offered throughout the event to get a behind-the-walls look at how the donated fire sprinkler system has been incorporated into the home. A ceremony will be held at 3:00pm to recognize those local organizations that made donations toward the project.
A fire sprinkler trailer will be on site to conduct hourly fire demonstrations to show the fast action of home fire sprinkler technology. Educational materials and information on home fire sprinklers will also be available.
Those in attendance at the event to answer questions will include the homeowners, builder, HFSC, State Farm Insurance agents, Frankfort Fire Protection District officials, and fire sprinkler contractors, among others.
