The Last Trade by James Conway
Thanks to Drew Havens, Rising Fund was the only hedge fund operation to profit off of the mortgage crisis four years ago.  Fast foward to 2011 and Drew’s bank account has improved but not his personal life and he is starting to question the future direction of the fund.  When his protege and other brokers are murdered, Drew desperately tries to uncover a conspiracy pointing towards a worldwide economic meltdown. A suspenseful debut financial thriller from a hedge fund insider.

The Flight of Gemma Hardy by Margot Livesey
An homage to Jane Eyre, this story is set in 1960's Scotland.  Gemma Hardy, an Icelandic orphan, is sent to live with a loving uncle.  Upon his death, she is left in the hands of a heartless aunt and apathetic cousins.  Her journey shifts tracks as she climbs on a train for boarding school. The smart, feisty Gemma is undeterred by her aunt's parting words, "You're an ugly child..." When the crumbling boarding school closes down, Gemma builds a new life as a nanny in the Orkney Islands of Scotland. Her captivating story continues with a romance with a man who has a secret and a quest to connect with her roots.

Glaciers: A Novel by Alexis M. Smith
This sweet and lyrical novel describes a day in the life of Isabel, a quirky young woman who is obsessed with vintage clothes and vintage postcards and the lives of those who once inhabited these items. Fittingly, she works with damaged books in a library basement. She begins her day thinking about a co-worker she has had a crush on for ages, planning to ask him to accompany her to a party that very night.  The novel is fractured by Isabel's memories of the past, a childhood in Alaska, and her parents' divorce. She is obsessed with the past, but her longing is so tender you will root for her to find a new beginning.
