Let's Talk About It: Muslim Journeys, Pathways of Faith

Welcome to Pathways of Faith, the theme for Frankfort's Let's Talk About It! discussion series. We will discuss 5 books over the next 5 months. Our first selection is F. E. Peter's The Children of Abraham: Judaism, Christianity, Islam. One of the first scholarly works to explain the commonalities and connections between Islam, Judaism, and Christianity, The Children of Abraham explores the intertwined relationships among the three faiths' holy scriptures, rituals, communities of believers, laws, theological systems, and traditions of mysticism.

Leading our discussion series is Dr. Scott Alexander, Associate Professor of Islam and Director of the Catholic-Muslim Studies Program at Catholic Theological Union, Chicago.

For more information and to RSVP go to www.frankfortlibrary.org or call 815-534-6173. Once you RSVP, you can pick up a resource folder and a copy of the book at the Adult Services Desk.

We will meet Thursdays at 7:00 PM:
February 13 - Muhammad: A Very Short Introduction by Jonathan A. C. Brown
March 13 - The Story of the Qur'an: It's History and Place in Muslim Life by Ingrid Mattson
April 10 - The Art of Hajj by Venetia Porter
