Step Back into a 1950s Christmas Exhibit

"Step Back into a 1950s Christmas," exhibit
will be on display at the 1950s Park Forest House Museum, at 141 Forest Blvd, open Wednesdays and Saturdays in December from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., or by appointment at other times, if possible. The special
admission/donation for December is $3.00 for adults; 12 and under are free. The museum tour is free with the purchase of a Marshall Field's Brick.  A selection of gifts is on sale in the museum and its online store at www.parkforesthistory.org.  Call Mike Gans, Park Forest Hist. Society President, at 708-305-3308, to arrange a private tour at other than regular open hours.  This would be a perfect family or group outing on Christmas Eve, or after the holidays.  The exhibit runs through December 31, 2012.  The Museum is closed in January, except by appointment.

Take a break from the hustle and bustle of 21st Century holiday preparations to spend some quality time getting a good dose of Holiday Nostalgia in this gem of a museum just down the street. Decorations from the 1950s are in every room. The museum features a musical, forest green, aluminum, rotating tree--a Brillliant Noble Fir,
made by the C. Sincere Company in Chicago, decorated with mid-century modern ornaments.
Gurley Candles and Rosbro plastic figurines are also on display.
