Blue Christmas

Time to be still. Time for reflection. Time to accept the challenges we face; the concerns we feel, & offer them to God. As we enter the Christmas Season; we invite you to share special time with us.

The Christmas season abounds with joy. Brightly wrapped packages, Christmas trees, holiday parties, holly and the scent of pine, upbeat carols in shops and the mall, visits from friends and family, baking and cooking, food everywhere! Yet each year some people -- the grieving, the lonely, the hopeless, or tho... se with painful memories of Christmas past -- dread the holiday season. They have no heart for the cheer and the bustle, the anticipation and the excitement. People who know that this Christmas will be a hard one because they have had a death in the family, a broken relationship, or job loss; need a place where someone understands the desire for this season to just go away.
This year at Frankfort United Methodist Church, we invite you to gather with us for a special worship service where we will offer up the pain, the loneliness, the anxiety and sad, dark memories to the One whose birth the world eagerly awaits, Jesus Christ. We offer a chance to sing and to pray in a loving, safe environment that might be the salve your soul seeks.
We pray that you will find hope and peace at this service; and comfort in knowing that you are not alone.
The Blue Christmas Service will begin at 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 6, at Frankfort UMC, 215 Linden Drive (at the corner of Linden and Sauk Trail) in Frankfort. If you need more information, please contact the church office at 815-469-5249.
