Award Winning bluegrass group THE BOXCARS in concert at Down Home Guitars

Critically acclaimed national award winning bluegrass band The Boxcars head to Frankfort Friday October 12th for an intimate concert at Down Home Guitars at 7:30pm.

Hot off the trail of the IMBA (International Bluegrass Music Association) Awards in Nashville where they won Instrumental Group of the Year and member Adam Steffey won Mandolin Player of the Year, both very prestigious awards, they continue to take the road by storm delighting audiences around the world with their incredible musicianship and harmony. While Winning Emerging Artist of the Year at IMBA last year (member Ron Stewart won Banjo Player of the Year and Steffey won Mandolin Player of the Year also) put them on the map collectively, they are all individually accomplished and seasoned veterans to bluegrass 'cutting their teeth' with the best in the business. With collective stints with Alison Krauss & Union Station (Steffey & fiddler John Bowman, who won multiple Grammys), J.D. Crowe & The New South (Stewart, Bowman, and bassist Harold Nixon), Blue Moon Rising (Nixon and guitarist Keith Garrett), The Dan Tyminski Band (Steffey and Stewart), this quintet starts out with an impressive rap sheet.

"These guys are some of the best there is and we are honored to have them perform in our shop. This is a great opportunity to see such amazing talent up close and personal." said Steve Haberichter of Down Home Guitars. "We only seat about 85 people in our concert space. It's truly a living room setting with no bad seat in the house. A band Like The Boxcars are definitely used to playing bigger venues, but the artists seem to like it just as much as the audience."
