Classic Cinemas Wednesday Morning Movie Series

Downers Grove, IL – “Despicable Me 2” kicks off Classic Cinemas Wednesday Morning Movie Series on June 11.  “Despicable Me 2” (PG/98 min.) is about the evil genius Gru who wants to steal the moon right out of the sky!  He enlists three orphan girls to help him carry out his scheme, but their love transforms him into a heroic good-guy! The movie won a 2013 Teen’s Choice Award for Choice Summer Movie. The film features the vocal talents of Steve Carell, Jason Segel and Russell Brand.

As in previous years, the Wednesday Morning Movie Series will run each Wednesday from June 11th through August 6th.  The films are rated G or PG, ensuring a family-friendly experience for every child. Doors will open at 9 AM, with the movies starting at 10 AM.  General admission is $1 per person.  Games and costumed characters will be on hand to entertain the children before show time.
“The Lego Movie” has been announced as the Wednesday Morning Movie Series surprise PG movie for July 30, 2014.

Reservations will be taken in advance for groups of 15 or more, with a special group rate of only $5.50 per person. This includes admission, Kiddie Combo and reserved seats to allow groups to be seated together.

The complete schedule features the following films:

June 18 – “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2” (2013) PG
Flint Lockwood now works at The Live Corp Company for his idol Chester V. But he's forced to leave his post when he learns that his most infamous machine is still operational and is churning out menacing food-animal hybrids. Voiced by Bill Hader, Anna Faris, Will Forte.

June 25 – “Turbo” (2013) PG
A freak accident might just help an everyday garden snail achieve his biggest dream: to win the Indy 500. Starring the voices of Ryan Reynolds, Paul Giamatti, Maya Rudolph

July 2 – “The Muppets Take Manhattan” (1984) G
In this digitally re-mastered classic, Kermit and his friends go to New York hoping to get their musical on the Broadway stage, only to find it's more difficult than they anticipated. Starring Jim Henson, Frank Oz, Dave Goelz

July 9 – “The Nut Job” (2014) PG
An exiled squirrel helps his former critter friends raid a nut store that fronts for a human gang's bank robbery enterprise. Starring Will Arnett, Brendan Fraser, Liam Neeson

July 16 – “The Smurfs 2” (2013) PG
The Smurfs team up with their human friends to rescue Smurfette, who has been kidnapped by the evil sorcerer, Gargamel. Featuring the voices of Neil Patrick Harris, Jayma Mays, Katy Perry.

July 23 – “Free Birds” (2013) PG
Two turkeys, from opposite sides of the farm fence, travel back in time to change the course of history for their descendants by getting turkey off the holiday menu for good. Voices provided by Woody Harrelson, Owen Wilson, Dan Fogler.
July 30 – “The Lego Movie” (2014) PG
The computer animated adventure comedy based on the Lego line of toys tells the story of an ordinary Lego figure named Emmet prophesied to save the Lego universe from the tyrannical Lord Business. Voices provided by Will Ferrell, Will Arnett, Will Forte, Morgan Freeman.
