ICE SKATING

No skating experience necessary. Learn how to balance and skate unassisted. Class is for future figure skaters, hockey players or recreational skaters. Skate rental is available for an additional $2.00 per week. No Make-Up Classes. Classes are 45 minutes in length. Please note all classes are subject to change and run depending on class enrollment.  Location: Homewood-Flossmoor Ice Arena, 777 Kedzie Ave., Homewood, IL (708) 957-0100  Fee: $90

LITTLE DRIBBLERS BASKETBALL

Saturday, January 12-February 9, 1st Grade Boys/Girls at 9:00-10:00 am, 2nd Grade Boys/Girls at 10:00-11:00 am at Founders Community Center this program is designed to be instructional with an emphasis placed on learning the fundamental skills of basketball in a fun and entertaining environment.  There will be group instruction on dribbling, passing, shooting and defense with special contests.  Each participant will receive a free T-shirt and a personalized award.  This program will assure to get your son/daughter ready for the Frankfort 3rd/4th grade basketball league. Fee: $39/NR$44

 

KIDS FIRST STEPS - Blast Ball (Baseball Fundamentals)

Batter UP on Thursday, January 10 – February 7, 4:00-5:00 pm at Grand Prairie School (north entrance). Blast Ball is the introduction to baseball for 4-5 year olds. The game is very safe, played with a soft bat and ball, no glove is needed. Each player bats once an inning and no scores are kept. Blast Ball consists of one base and it makes a “honking” noise when a player steps on it. Major League Baseball recognized Blast Ball as part of its campaign to promote the resurgence of baseball at the grass-roots level. (Bring your cameras). Kids Love IT!

KIDS FIRST STEPS T-Ball (Baseball Fundamentals Program)

It’s a HIT on Thursday, January 10- February 7, 5:00-6:00 pm at Grand Prairie School (north entrance). Beginners Baseball! Instruction & Games! This program prepares kids to understand the game of baseball through fundamentals. Players learn how to step catch & throw at different fielding positions. Plus: Batting is taught from a Tee-Stand, followed by coach-pitch making kids feel comfortable swinging the bat and hitting the ball. Baseball games are played once the players are ready.  Instructor: Kids First Staff  Age: 6-8 years  Fee: $59/NR$64

 

FLOOR HOCKEY PROGRAM

Tuesday, January 29-March 5, 5:00-5:45pm at Founders Community Center participants in this floor hockey class will learn the basic skills, terms and general playing tactics from a level 3 certified USA Hockey Coach. Having fun will be the primary objective with exercise and friendship building being a big part of class. Everyone should bring their own water bottle and be ready to have some fun!  Age: 3rd-6th Grade  Fee: $45/NR$50
