Will County Ranked #2 out of all Illinois Counties for Transparency

During March 10-16, the Illinois Policy Institute will be celebrating Sunshine Week 2013.  Sunshine Week is an annual national initiative to promote a dialogue about the importance of open government.For 2012, Will County ranked 2nd out of 102 Illinois counties for on-line transparency.  Only Kane County was ranked higher.  The Local Transparency Project uses a 10-Point Transparency Checklist to compare county websites.  Each county is scored on a 100 point scale.  Kane County ranked #1 at 100% while Will County ranked #2 at 95.4%.As always, the Will County Board, its elected officials and employees will strive to improve upon our second place finish.  Congratulations to Kane County on their 100% score.For more information, please go to the Illinois Policy Institute website at: http://www.illinoispolicy.org.
