Griffin Pride Evident in Class Gift

The Lincoln-Way East High School Class of 2012 has installed a large mosaic of the Griffin in the floor leading to the field house.

There will be no doubt whose turf you’re on when you enter through the Aquatic Center.

The Class of 2012 has installed a large mosaic of the Griffin in the floor leading to the field house.

“We chose the Griffin because it represents who we are,” said Lincoln-Way East teacher and Senior Class Sponsor Patricia Tutko. “We take great pride in our school, and we want the future students, community members and visitors to feel that pride.”

Senior Class Officers Ryan Smetana (president), Danny Sapato (vice president), Caitlyn Smith (secretary) and Shannon Merrion (treasurer) presented the class gift to the district and Board of Education shortly before Tuesday night’s graduation ceremony.

The gift was purchased with proceeds from candy sales and other fundraisers.
