Every year, the Lincoln-Way teachers host a basketball game to raise money for college scholarships. The scholarships are awarded at the end of the school year to a future teacher from each high school.

In the past, the teachers have held a district-wide basketball game at one of the Lincoln-Way schools.

This year, they decided to expand their efforts by holding a fundraiser at each school.

East’s faculty basketball game will take place at 7 p.m. March 15 at Lincoln-Way East High School, 201 Colorado Ave., Frankfort.

Lincoln-Way North will stage a similar match-up March 10 with the Harlem Wizards while Lincoln-Way West will hold a faculty basketball game on March 22.

Participants in the East basketball game include teacher athletes Mike McGrath, Ryan Henke, Blake Lucas, Curt Smith, Tom Grogan, Michael Beckett, Dave Campanile, Josh Holder, Danielle Custardo, Kris Fior, Phil Cipriani, Brandon Lipke, Dave Woodburn, Paul Babcock, Mary McGivern, Tracy Clark, Don Young and Steve Miller.

Selling tickets that night will be Sue Panozzo and Nancy Lagger. Tom Eiden will serve as announcer and Jeff Keller will run the scoreboard. Rachel Zordani will keep the scorebook while Ryan Miller will run the scoreboard sideboards.

Throughout the game, East’s Athletic Boosters will sell concessions and the Lincoln-Way East Pep Band will keep the crowd pumped up.

Tickets to the March 15 game are $4 for adults and $3 for students.

Fans are encouraged to donate more if they wish.
