Area Schools Come Together for Lincoln-Way’s Fine Arts Festival – 'ArtWorks 2012'

Students from 33 area schools, including all four Lincoln-Way high schools, will exhibit their dance, speech, drama, music and visual art talents at ArtWorks 2012 on March 24.

Students from 33 area schools, including all four Lincoln-Way high schools, will exhibit their dance, speech, drama, music and visual art talents at ArtWorks 2012, a fine arts festival sponsored by.

Visitors to ArtWorks 2012 will have an opportunity to view musical and dance performances by school bands, choirs, youth strings and dance groups; attend a variety of art demonstrations and hands-on workshops for all ages; and view original art pieces by students and staff at Lincoln-Way High School District 210, New Lenox School District 122, , , Mokena School District 159 and Manhattan School District 114, as well as several area private schools.

Professional artists John Tylk, Ken Hawke and Ted Fuka will be on hand to answer questions and demonstrate various art techniques.

The festival will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 24, at , 201 Colorado Ave., Frankfort. It will conclude at 3 p.m. that day.

Admission is free and open to the public, so please stop by and enjoy a day devoted to celebrating the arts.
