Who Will Rescue Louie the Chihuahua?

The 8-month-old pup and his pals will be at the Alsip Pet Rescue grand opening, Sunday, Feb. 23, starting at noon with a ceremony at 1 p.m.

Visitors to Alsip Home & Nursery Saturday, ahead of Sunday's grand opening event, were already checking out the dogs available for adoption at the pet center. A ceremony will take place at the Frankfort store at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23. The grand opening event begins at noon and lasts until 4 p.m.

Local police dogs and other dignitaries will be in attendance. Anyone who gives one of these animals a home will be entered to win a "Bed & Breakfast" prize package which includes:

  • $50 Groomingdales Pet Salon Spa Package
  • A New Pet Bed
  • Assorted Treats and More
