Isn't Jenny's the place that closed in Frankfort? Did it reopen in Mokena, because that can't be there 11 years. That area wasn't even built then. I think its the place that serves their steaks on hot plates right? I remember not going back to a place for that reason. Steak was really dry and overcooked by the time I got it. Steaks should never be on a hot plate! I might be wrong, but I think thats the place.

@betty, Yes, it reopened in Mokena in January: http://mokena.patch.com/articles/mokena-welcomes-jenny-s-steakhouse-to-191-south

Dan mcgees is the best!! Any CIA trained chef will always win!!

Wife and I had two great steaks at Benny's two weeks ago. Place was packed, had to wait additional 45 minutes with our reservation. Sure it's much more expensive than Williamsons- but that is what a great steak, great service, and great atmosphere is all about.
eva newman April 24, 2012 at 09:57 PM
Williamson's is the only place to get a great steak, great service and great atmpsphere and no you don't have to pay 3 times as much as the other two.

Best steaks goes to Williamson's, without a doubt!
frankwesterman April 24, 2012 at 10:05 PM
ive been to all 3 ....you can not even begin to put williamson in same sentence as dan mcgees and mr bennys....2 totally differnt concepts mc gees and bennys for dining willamsons for eating cheap food and not quality.....close between mc gees and bennys....willamsons should not even be considered......
Felicia Knox April 24, 2012 at 10:39 PM
So you would rather have a school trained chef, than at least 40 years of experience that the other two have? I'll take experience any day. Williamson's and Benny's have my vote. Staples in this community for years!
maddie dunn April 25, 2012 at 02:19 AM
Your right williamsons should not be in this catagory with restaurants that have a very limited menu and charge more for the SAME great quality that obviously all three of these restaurants must have, because they are all winners. They are different restaurants and they do have different prices, and very different menus but this was a general poll of who has best steaks. To say that williamsons serves cheap food without quality is obsurd. They won their category and obviously a lot of people agreed that their steaks were the best in new lenox. To say they shouldn't even be considered when they are the busiest restaurant in the area is ridiculous. Great job to all three!

I agree that all three are winners. I have only been to Mcgees once and it was ok, and Mr. Bennys serves a decent meal. But my vote for best steak in Lincoln way area is williamsons. They just cook the steaks exactly like I order and I can cut through them with a butter knife. I tried their steak monday night and thought they were going to cut back on quality for their special 10.00 price, but that definitly was not the case. All of our steaks were exactly what we get any other day. I'm not sure how they do it, but it was great. We prefer to go on other days, because Mondays are so busy. Their prices are reasonable anyway.

I've tried all three restaurants and Mr. Benny's is by far the best. Their steaks and lobster are phenomenal. I've been to Gibson's and the Chop House in Chicago and Benny's is definitely comparable, if not better.

Sorry mokena but I have to go to new lenox for best steak! williamson's has the best prime rib I have ever eaten, and the best horseradish sauce.
jamiev April 26, 2012 at 06:06 AM
I totally agree, Frank. Dan McGee's has fantastic food that can't even compare to the half-step-up-from-a-truckstop that Williamson's is. How anyone can think that is quality food is beyond me.
dina ferreira April 26, 2012 at 04:31 PM
Williamsons $10.99 steak Monday can't be beat for price and quality they have many cuts including prime rib delicious.
Lily Addison April 26, 2012 at 11:45 PM
Williamson's has the better selection for steaks, Also has a menu with a lot of variety. The place is also decorated beautifully.
George Winistorfer April 27, 2012 at 03:50 AM
How did Williamson's get 800 votes in 2 hours? I call SHENANIGANS! Mr. Benny's ROCKS!
Johnathon April 27, 2012 at 09:58 PM
George, have you ever heard of mass marketing? Facebook, text messaging..etc. I can help you with Mr. Benny's if you need! My vote actually goes to McGees. Haven't been to the other ones. But sounds like they got a lot of customers. Might need to make the trip to new lenox.
amanda clark April 28, 2012 at 02:02 AM
Best steaks in Lincoln-Way goes to......who else? Williamsons of course! There is no restaurant that even compares!
maddie dunn April 28, 2012 at 02:57 AM
wow jamiev, your really harsh. This is a neighborhood contest. To call a restaurant a step up from a truck stop, sounds pretty personal. Did they fire you or something? It looks like a lot of people would disagree with you!
Phil Masters April 28, 2012 at 05:44 AM
I'll say it again, williamsons serves the best steak without any doubts. Obviously a lot of people agree!
julio ferreira April 28, 2012 at 02:48 PM
Williamsons get my vote because they have all the cuts, good quality and great prices!
LaurenS April 28, 2012 at 06:31 PM
Love Mr Benny's, I've been going there for years. Nothing but the best!!!
LaurenS April 28, 2012 at 06:33 PM
Total shenanigans!! Go Mr B's!!!!!
Foodie April 28, 2012 at 08:17 PM
Williamsons for not only the best steaks but all around best menu and friendliest most efficient staff
Julie Richards April 28, 2012 at 09:56 PM
jamie, what do you like to eat there? there isn't much on their menu, from their website and only one steak. How is this place even in a steak contest? Suggest what is so fantastic for the rest of us please.
jamiev April 30, 2012 at 04:52 AM
No, they didn't fire me. I don't work in the food industry. I know good food. I ate there once and had an absolutely horrible meal. The chicken was unfrozen, processed and poor quality. My mom ate there and got food poisoning. I just don't get why so many people are raving about it.
jamiev April 30, 2012 at 04:56 AM
As for what I like to eat at Dan McGee's, take your pick. I've not had a bad meal there. You don't need to have a huge menu to have good quality food cooked correctly. Sometimes it's better to do a few things really well, instead of a hundred things mediocre.
Pam Paridee April 30, 2012 at 02:54 PM
Mr. Benny's is the best!! The atmosphere, great service and quality food are well above the others!!!
l devins April 30, 2012 at 10:48 PM
Looks like most of Lincoln way disagrees....Williamson's wins!
Phil Masters April 30, 2012 at 10:57 PM
I do agree with a few people here, it's obvious jamie has a vendeta with a place she only ate at once. And to claim food poisoning for your mother after the fact they were declared the winner (by a landslide) is a little suspicious. Not to mention, you never did actually suggest an item on mcgees menu. I doubt you've ever been there. Everyone remembers their favorite meal!
