What Should Go Here at this 17,000 Square Foot Space Behind Mimi’s?

A completely empty space off of LaGrange Road with a slight Spanish motif, and can be divided, has sat almost entirely unoccupied for a while. What should be put in?

A 17,000 square-foot space has been for sale or rent at 16124 LaGrange Road for quite some time.

The last tenants in at least one of the available spaces was before they moved to the 159th Street space, leaving this brick-featured building empty.

Those interested in renting or buying the space should contact Perry Commercial’s Frankfort office at 815-933-2554.

It sits behind as well as , and with plenty of other dining options across the street (not to mention Tilted Kilt on the way), it’d be nice to have something different here.

Say what should go here in the comments.

This strip mall has never been successful. I'd fear any retail business that would go in here would be doomed to fail because its too far away from Lagrange Rd, there's no visable signage from LaGrange Rd for people to see or remember what's back here , and there's no other access to it from 159th, to make it easy for others to drive by or get to. So maybe instead of leasing to retail/restaurant shops, they shoud focuse more on filling with professional offices.

I agree there needs to be signage, but I really have no problem seeing the strip mall because I constantly notice it and am wondering if it will ever have tenants. :) I don't think it's an automatic doom for future tenants, unless the rent is high. The strip mall at 179th and Lagrange (Behind Arby's took a good deal of time have more than just two tenants, same with the one on 171st and Lagrange (Charlie Horse), this strip mall is anchored by Frankies and Charlie horse, so it better do well. IMO

Landmark Flooring April 15, 2012 at 09:10 PM
Landmark Flooring has called multiple times on the space and even put an offer to lease and or buy a portion of this building. ( This is owned by Old Second Bank). Needless to say we recieved no willingness to even negotiate whatsoever. We continue our quest to relocate to a larger venue but find it very difficult to get cooperation!!
