Find out what local restaurants and bars are offering a variety of food discounts and drink specials for the holiday.

Who says it's too early to start planning how you'll be spending St. Patrick's Day on Saturday? Patch shows you some of the Frankfort pubs and restaurants that won't just have you wearing green on your back, they'll have you saving greenbacks.

When: 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 16
What's on tap: St. Patrick's Day comes a day early at CD & ME, which will offer a traditional Irish dinner of corned beef and cabbage; boiled potatoes and carrots; Irish soda bread; tossed salad and cole slaw; and dessert for $35. If you don't feel like eating, you can watch the Shamrockin' Comedy Show with James Wesley Jackson and Denise Ramsden for $13. Call 815-469-7315 for dinner reservations.

When: All day, Saturday, March 17
What's on tap: Corned beef cabbage, corned beef sandwiches and Reubens will be served all day. The pub also will have drink specials, including $3 20-ounce draft domestics, $4 Jameson's shots, $5 2007 Guinness and $6 Irish Car Bombs.

When: 8 p.m. Saturday, March 17
What's on tap: The bar will serve a homemade corned beef and cabbage dinner for $9.95, and there will be music by Bernie Glim and the Country Roads Band, starting at 9 p.m.

When: 11:15 a.m. Saturday, March 17
What's on tap: The Sullivan Irish Dancers will kick off the fun at Tommy Nevins, followed by music from St. James Gate (4 p.m.) and The Bishops of Frankfort (9 p.m.).

When: 10 a.m. Saturday, March 17
What's on tap: This Irish sports bar will start with an Irish breakfast served until noon. After that, corned beef and cabbage will be on the menu through lunch and dinner. The Guinness Challenge, a competition to see who can drink the fastest Guinness, will begin at 1 p.m., and the beer garden will be open all day, with $3 Budweiser and Bub Light 16-ounce bottles.
