Pizza Playoffs: Who's the Best in Frankfort?

Patch is kicking off a Best Pizza contest in the Southland, which eventually will pit Frankfort pizza against others in the area. But first, it's up to you to pick the best pizza shop to represent the village.

Opinions about local pizza places are like certain universal body parts: Everyone has one.

Now Frankfort Patch is giving you a chance to share those--the opinions, not the body parts--with fellow readers in the village and around the area.

On Thursday, Feb. 2, in honor of Sunday's Super Bowl, we'll kick off the Patch Pizza Playoffs. And I need you suit up, because I'm calling you off the bench.

First, you'll vote for the best pizza place in Frankfort and Mokena. Local places only—no national chains, such as , , ,  and . The winner will face seven other winners: Oak Lawn-Evergreen Park, Palos, Orland, Tinley Park-Oak Forest, New Lenox, Homewood-Flossmoor and Chicago Heights-Olympia Fields.

Before we get the pizza party going Thursday, share your thoughts here and other places. We'll chat about it on Frankfort Patch's Facebook page, and you can review your favorite local joint in the Patch Places business directory.

Voting will run from Thursday, Feb. 2, through midnight Sunday, Feb. 5, after the Super Bowl.

In the meantime, leave reviews and read some of our previous pizza Chowdown Showdowns and other coverage:
