Pete Mitchell's Changes Owners, Looks to Expand Hours

• changed owners late last year, and now the bar is looking to extend its hours, staying open until 1 a.m. daily. Currently, it is only open until 1 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. The bar has applied for a special permit from the village for the extended hours, and for that to happen, the Frankfort Plan Commission needs to recommend at Thursday's meeting that the Village Board approve the request. But the ownership change won't mean a change in a familiar face at the bar. The new owner, Edward Giordano, is the father of Nicole Giordano, the bar's manger for the past three years who will be staying on in her current role.

• and Mother Nature's Timeless Treasures, which are both located in the same building on Ash Street, will be doing some storefront reshuffling in the spring. Mother Nature's will be moving to another suite in the interior of the building in April, and Yarns To Dye For will be expanding into Mother Nature's old spot. "We will have to take time to bring the shop up to the way that works for us but this will be great for us to bring in more yarns, have a nice pattern search corner, expand where we can enjoy our open knitting/crocheting on Thursdays ... and finally WE WILL HAVE OUR OWN BATHROOM IN THE SHOP!" said the yarn store's Facebook page.
