  • , a Frankfort architecture firm and real estate developer, will be hosting a Business After Hours event at its Highpoint 2 office building at 9550 Bormet Dr., Mokena. The free networking event is from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4. People can still RSVP for the event by calling the chamber at 815-469-3356.

  • received final Village Board approval Monday for a special-use permit that lets the sports facility move to a new location at 9535 W. Laraway Road. The new building will house indoor baseball and basketball areas. .

  • The Village Board also approved Monday a liquor license for The Wild Rover, , 20535 LaGrange Road. John Dillon, the Oak Forest resident who will co-own The Wild Rover with his brother, said the bar could be open as soon as Oct. 14.
