New Salon Opening in Downtown Frankfort

Sleek Salon will open March 22 at 24 Elwood St. in downtown Frankfort, according to owner Rose M. Lee. The location was formerly the home of D'Marie Salon.

Softer Side Closing

The Softer Side, located at 20881 S. La Grange Rd., is currently in the process of closing. 

"We are sad to announce that after 7 years of business, we will be closing," store representatives wrote in a post on The Softer Side's Facebook account. "Small business just can't survive anymore in this economy."

The shop will remain open until its inventory is sold. All items are currently 20 percent off, excluding reduced merchandise.

EZ Sign Comes to Mokena

EZ Sign Company opened a location in Mokena in early March at 19125 S. 85th Ct., according to store management. The company specializes in sign sales, service and design, according to the EZ Sign website.

Ribbon Cutting for An English Garden

The Frankfort Chamber of Commerce and the Mokena Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting March 14 for An English Garden Flowers and Gifts. The flower shop relocated to a storefront in downtown Mokena in December, at 11210 Front St.
