Meatheads Opens in Frankfort

Meatheads restaurant officially opened for business Thursday morning with a ribbon cutting organized by the Frankfort Chamber of Commerce.

“I love a good burger and this is fantastic,” said chamber president Keith Ogle.

The family restaurant, located in Prairie Crossings Shopping Center, specializes in fresh, made to order burgers and fries. The new restaurant is the 10th location for the Chicagoland chain and has brought approximately 30 jobs to Frankfort.

“We’re certainly delighted to see Meatheads open up in Frankfort,” said mayor Jim Holland.

Meatheads’ director of marketing Joe Sanders said the company places a strong emphasis on community service.

“We’re really focused on families,” he said.

The restaurant routinely honors a “Meathead of the Month,” a student athlete who displays determination, hustle and hard work and is chosen through online voting.

On one wall of the restaurant, Meatheads tracks the basketball season for all the schools in the Lincoln-Way Community High School District, as well as Providence Catholic High School. The score wall will follow football, baseball and softball as well, depending on the season.

Earlier in the week, Meatheads hosted multiple reservation-only benefit dinners. On Monday, the Frankfort Square Baseball Association ate for free, while Meatheads collected funds at the front of the restaurant and gave the proceeds back to the association. Meatheads hosted a second dinner for the Lincoln-Way Hockey Club on Tuesday.

The restaurant also offers rewards programs for young readers and for organizations that are fundraising.
