Mariano's Ripple Effect: De Paulo Travel to Relocate This Weekend
The travel agency, which has been in Frankfort for 32 years and at its current spot for 8, will move to nearby Bankview Drive, south of Harris Bank, the owner said Wednesday.

, which has been in Frankfort for 32 years, will move to a larger, more modern location at 103 Bankview Dr., this weekend, owner Sue De Paulo McFadden stated in an e-mail Wednesday. The travel agency will be closed Saturday, June 9, in order to wrap up the move, so doors can be open Monday, June 11, she wrote.

Because she doesn't own the building or lot at 20951 LaGrange Road, where her business has been for the past eight years, McFadden said the property's owners, Harry and Bob D'Ercole, requested her to move once Mariano's wanted to use that land for its new high-end grocery store. The D'Ercoles, of course, own Enrico's, as well as much of the land in that area, . That deal also is .
Opening its doors May 1, 1980, De Paulo Travel has had four locations in the village, including its new one, just south of Harris Bank, McFadden said. The agency started in what was Rockwood Square Plaza on U.S. Route 30, the area currently occupies, she said, adding that she ran the office entirely by herself at the time. After that, McFadden occupied a building in Enrico's parking lot before moving again, coincidentally, when that space needed to be torn down to make room for , she said.

McFadden plans to have a grand opening specials in the fall once she settles in to the new, larger location.
Red Door Properties, located next to De Paulo Travel to the south at 20975 LaGrange Road, was not contacted for this story. Patch will follow up with Red Door's owners to find out their specific relocation plans.
