The Barnes Foundation is proud to announce its fourth annual signature fundraising event, “Cocktails for a Cause.” Proceeds from the event will benefit The University of Chicago Medicine Comprehensive Cancer Center at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, IL.
Cocktails for a Cause will be held at CD & Me in Frankfort on Friday, September 28 from 6 to 10 p.m.
Tickets are $25, which includes cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and one entry into a raffle for $1,000 (winner need not be present to win). The event will also include live music, a DJ, a raffle and a silent auction. Tickets can be purchased at the door or online at www.barnes-foundation.org. “The Barnes Foundation is passionate about supporting the new Comprehensive Cancer Center,” said Barnes Foundation President Amy Gollan. “This facility will be able to connect people right in our own community with cutting-edge technology and treatment that is typically only available in a big city. Having witnessed a close family member’s battle with cancer, I know how grueling and stressful traveling to receive treatments can be. This new state-of-the-art center will make cancer treatment an easier and more positive experience.”
Opened in June of 2012, the Comprehensive Cancer Center provides both standard and experimental cancer therapies. The center’s services include advanced imaging technology, cancer support services, chemotherapy, clinical trials, hormonal therapy, immunotherapy, infusion services, preventative screenings, radiation therapy, stem cell transplants and surgery.
