Dust Off Old Collectables and Buy New Clothes and Jewelry at Eclectic Attic

Learn everything you need to know about the newest business in the upstairs portion of the Trolley Barn.

Laura Cocalas was warned of other businesses that had come and gone in the upstairs portion of the . Instead of being frightened off by the knowledge of previous failures, Cocalas embraced the challenge of the area by naming her new business, 'Eclectic Attic.'

The antique, retail, resale and consignments store opened its doors on July 2, and already has over 25 separate deals with other businesses to sell goods in its shop. Eclectic Attic wants to appeal to everyone regardless of their income with the business' items ranging from collectible Hot Wheels toy cars to women's scarves and jewelry. 

"This economy is really tough on everyone," Cocalas said. "We literally have things as little as 50 cents, and we have items that go all the way upto $650."

Who works there? Owner - Laura Cocalas was laid off from her property management job after working there for fifteen years. "I actually thought I'd be a 'lifer' there," Cocalas said. "But as the economy goes - that stuff happens."

Employees - Laura usually runs the shop on weekdays, while her daughter Lindsay takes care of the business on weekends. However, Eclectic Attic plans on hiring additional help during upcoming Frankfort events at the , such as Fall Fest.

What Makes the Shop Special? - "The area that we’re in and the historic area of downtown Frankfort," Cocalas said. "We absolutely love the Trolley Barn." Plans for the Future - "We’d love to expand, but we’ll see how everything goes," Cocalas said. Eclectic Attic would also like to bring in more artisans, and to continue to be reasonably priced.
