Action Sports to Move This Month to New Location

Longtime Frankfort business will relocate closer to Lincoln-Way East High School in May.

has had a variety of homes in Frankfort since it opened in 1980. In mid-May, it will move into its newest one yet at 75 Bankview Drive.

Looking for more exposure, a better location and newer facilities, Action Sports will relocate its Lincoln-Way gear and custom imprinting business  just across the street from , owner Larry Davis said.

Davis, a former teacher, got into the business by building on the professional success of his wife Donna's hand-painted fabrics. Action Sports carries apparel and accessories for all four Lincoln-Way high schools. Davis and his staff also handle silk screening and embroidery for area youth and adult sports leagues, teams and businesses.

A spring sale is currently under way at Action Sports' 10850 W. Laraway Road location. Shoppers might want to stock up now on their Lincoln-Way-themed graduation gifts, as the store will be moving in the middle of May.

"We hope to just turn the switch off here and on over there. We're being optimistic about having very little downtime," Davis said.

An official grand opening is planned for early August to coincide with back-to-school promotions. The Action Sports website and phone number--815-469-5757--will stay the same.
