GALLERY: Photographer Captures the Colors Around Him

Stuart Pearson, whose photos are on display at Monkey Mind Art Studio & Gallery, talks about documenting the beauty just outside everyone's back door.

Look closely at Stuart Pearson's nature photographs and see if you catch yourself  trying to spot paint strokes. Sure, your mind knows it's looking at film images, but your eyes think they're looking at the brilliant colors from the brush of an Impressionist painter.

A collection of the Joliet photographer's photos work is on display through March 12, at in an exhibit titled Three Eyes to the World.  An artist's reception will be from noon-4 p.m. Sunday at the gallery.

We asked Pearson to talk a little bit about some of the photos in the exhibit, giving some insight into his process and some stories behind the images.
