Frankfort Dancers to Perform in Joffrey's Nutcracker

The local students will appear onstage with the Joffrey company this December.

Several young dancers from the Frankfort area will perform in the Joffrey Ballet’s 25th anniversary production of The Nutcracker, according to a media release from the Joffrey Ballet.

Participating Frankfort residents Grace Varvik (age 11), Rachel Newton (age 12), Kelly Scott (age 11) and Chelsea Wells (age 11) are among the 118 youth performers who will join the full Joffrey company in mounting the classic Christmas ballet. These young dancers will play party girls and boys, Polichinelles, battle mice and mounted mice, soldiers, snow tree angels and dolls in the show.

The Nutcracker will be staged in the Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University at 50 E. Congress Parkway and will run from Dec. 7-27. Tickets cost $31-$132 and are available for purchase by telephone at 800-298-2787 or online at www.ticketmaster.com
