The 10th annual Fine Arts Fair in Frankfort is an upscale affair filled with proven artists selling original works and creations that would make for the perfect accent in your home.

Artists primarily from Frankfort along with others from throughout the Lincoln-Way area will be setting up their exhibits from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. June 22 at Breidert Village Green, White and Kansas Streets, in downtown Frankfort. In case of rain, the event will be held in the gym at Founders Center, 140 Oak St.

Introduced in 2004, "the Fine Arts Fair has rapidly grown to be a favorite among the many community events held in Frankfort," according to Mary Canino, community relations director. It's become a special event in Frankfort, attracting a variety of creations, including watercolors, pottery, hand blown glass and more.

What makes it even more interesting, said Canino, are the artists themselves. They're on-hand to talk about their style of art, to share their inspiration for a particular favorite.

Another added feature to the fair is a wine and cheese tasting tent from 1-3 p.m. Frankfort's own WineStyles, 20214 S. LaGrange Road, is sponsoring the tasting. WineStyles is considered a wine boutique specializing in smaller wineries and "hard to find wines."

And no fair is complete without live entertainment. Beginning at 10 a.m. and ending at noon, local musician Andrea Jawor is scheduled to perform several selections on the harp. The Lincoln-Way East Jazz Combo is slated to perform between 12:30-3 p.m.

“The Fine Arts Fair continues to be a crowd favorite and a great showcase for our local artistic talent. It also provides an opportunity for visitors to enjoy our downtown area, its shops and restaurants,” said Frankfort’s Mayor Jim Holland.
