Fall Fest Survival Guide: What to Know Before You Go

Patch's coverage of the 2013 Frankfort Fall Festival begins here with a schedule of what's happening when during the village's signature event.

Be prepared: The downtown village streets now belong to the Frankfort Fall Festival.

The Fall Festival Chairwoman is Colleen Mora, and the theme is "Fright Fest—It's a Thriller." The Grand Marshal is Frankfort's 13-year-old Cole Cunningham.

Officially, the festival, with about 300 artisans selling their wares, runs from Saturday through Monday. But there are plenty of other activities and events connected to the festival that began as early as Wednesday.

Frankfort Fall Festival Schedule

SATURDAY
9:45-10 a.m.: Opening ceremonies and ribbon-cutting at Breidert Green Stage
10 a.m.-6 p.m.: Arts and crafts exhibitors open 
10 a.m.-6 p.m.: Food booths open

SUNDAY
10 a.m.-6 p.m.: Arts and crafts exhibitors open
10 a.m.-6 p.m.: Food booths open
1 p.m.: Parade (see below)

MONDAY
10 a.m.-5 p.m.: Arts and crafts exhibitors open
10 a.m.-5 p.m.: Food booths open

32nd Annual Lions Club Dance and Drawing

When: Thursday, Aug. 29. Admission starts at 7 p.m. and the drawing is held at about 11 p.m.
Where: The Beer and Entertainment Tent (BETA) at the Breidert Green parking lot
Cost: $20 per couple in advance from a Frankfort Lions Club member or through the group's website; $25 per couple at the door.
What to Expect: Sponsored by the Frankfort Lions Club, the 32nd Annual Sweepstakes Dance and Drawing is a Fall Fest tradition. Tickets give participants entry to the dance as well as prize drawings, including one for $10,000. Sundance will perform the dance music, and food from will be on sale.

Carnival

When: 5-9 p.m. Thursday, 5-9:30 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m.-9:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday.

Special Needs Day is 4-6 p.m. Friday  

Cost: Pay One Price Unlimited Ride Bands available on Thursday.

Coupons for Friday-Monday: $1.25 for each coupon, $25 for 22 coupons, $60 for 55 coupons. *Rides accept 2-4 coupons.

Parade

The parade begins at 1 p.m. Sunday. Parade participants are encouraged to have a "Fright Fest-It's a Thriller" theme for their floats and displays. .

Beer And Entertainment Tent (BETA)

Where: Breidert Green parking lot
Cost: $5 after 6 p.m. Friday through Sunday**. $2 from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday through Monday. Children younger than 12 are free before 6 p.m. Food will be served by the Lincoln-Way East High School Music Boosters.
