Three Irish Sopranos come to Lincoln-Way

Just in time for St. Patrick’s Day, the Three Irish Sopranos will bring a wee bit of Ireland to Lincoln-Way North High School on March 12.

The singing trio, comprised of Wendy Dwyer, Kay Lynch and Deirdre Masterson, wows audiences wherever they go.

“They are the crème de la crème of Irish classical vocal talent,” said Denise Adducci, performing arts coordinator for Lincoln-Way High School District 210. “All three have had extensive classical training, and each possesses a very distinctive voice.”

After a recent performance at Carnegie Hall, the New York Times wrote: “The Irish Sopranos made Carnegie Hall even more breathtaking with their beauty and pristine voices.”

The March 12 performance at Lincoln-Way North High School is the fourth and final in a series of performances called the Spotlight Series.

Lincoln-Way High School District 210 introduced the Spotlight Series in 2009 with the opening of its fourth high school -- Lincoln-Way West. The goal was to bring world-class entertainers to the area at affordable tickets prices, while giving the community an opportunity to experience the state-of-the-art auditoriums at all four Lincoln-Way high schools.

Past performances this season have included The Von Trapp Children at Lincoln-Way East High School, “Forever Plaid” at Lincoln-Way Central High School and the New Shanghai Circus at Lincoln-Way West High School.

The March 12 performance of the Three Irish Sopranos will begin at 7:30 p.m. at Lincoln-Way North High School, 19900 S. Harlem Ave., Frankfort.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for students K-12 and senior citizens age 65 and older.
