Monkey Mind Dream Hats Class

Dream-Hats is a visually guided meditation program for children offered by Regina Sargent, R.N., at Monkey Mind Art Studio and Gallery.

This program allows children to express their imagination and creativity in a stress-free and self-enhancing atmosphere. A craft or a simple journal/ drawing is done at each session. This spring Sargent will have a special focus on journaling.

"Even the youngest students journal through pictures," says Sargent. "This spring we will travel to places in our meditations that help us bloom within ourselves."

Using your imagination and listening skills and following directions are key components to the success of this program, says Sargent who is an experienced leader with children. A simple Dream-Hat is made at the first session which kids wear as part of the creative, meditative process.

"Being in touch with the intuitive, creative part of ourselves builds resilience and creative problem solving skills that are lifelong lessons. The goal of this program is to activate, and appreciate that process," Sargent explained.
