A “well organized clipper system” is likely to deliver anywhere from two to five inches of snow atop the South Suburbs between the hours of 10 p.m. Sunday and noon on Monday, according to the National Weather Service.
While northern areas like Rockford and Marengo are expected to be the heaviest hit, the South Suburban region may see increased snowfall if lake effects kick into gear.
Residents are warned to take caution while driving as snowfall may accumulate as fast as one inch per hour. The heaviest snowfall is expected to occur overnight, from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.
