The National Weather Service in Romeoville is predicting accumulating snow Thursday night into Friday morning for the Lincoln-Way area.
The forecast estimates up to three inches of snow.
"A fast-moving weather system will bring a period of snow to the area from later tonight into Friday morning," The National Weather Service said in a written release. "Snow will develop from west to east after midnight and taper off from the west early to mid-Friday morning."
Lows tonight are predicted to hover around 17 degrees, meaning the snow that falls will likely remain on the ground. Those conditions mean that roads will be slippery. Because snow will be falling into Friday morning, NWS cautions that the morning commute will be impacted.
