Museum, College Partner for Holiday Event

KidsWork Children's Museum plays host to Holiday Pole-Looza on Sunday.

and Governors State University's Center for Performing Arts team up this weekend for Holiday Pole-Looza at the museum.

The family event at the Frankfort museum, 11 S. White St., runs from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday and will feature appearances from cast members of Salt Creek Ballet's production of The Nutcracker, which will be performed Dec. 11 at the Center for Performing Arts.

Here's a rundown of activities scheduled for Holiday Pole-Looza:

  • Noon-2 p.m.: Kids can decorate a gingerbread house to take home.
  • 2 p.m.: The Mouse King, Baby Mouse and the Chinese dancers from Salt Creek Ballet's Nutcracker perform in a narrated demonstration. 
  • 2:30-4 p.m.: Santa Claus will be on hand for pictures.

Also, special family four-pack ticket packages will be given away at 1, 2 and 3 p.m. for Salt Creek's Nutcracker on Dec. 11

The event is $4 for museum members and $6 plus general admission for non-members.

Salt Creek Ballet's The Nutcracker is at 1 and 5 p.m. Dec. 11 at Governors State University's Center for the Performing Art, 1 University Parkway, University Park. Tickets are $15-$40 and $15-$35 for children 16 and younger. Call the center's box office at 708-235-2222 or go to its website.
