PHOTOS: Mayor, Residents Light Up Downtown for the Holidays

Madrigals, choirs and Santa Claus helped celebrate the season at Thursday's annual event at Breidert Green.

Mayor Jim Holland and Frankfort residents ushered in the holiday season by lighting up the trees of  on Thursday.

Rev. Greg Skowron of led gatherers in prayer to begin the festivities, and the combined choirs from , as well as the Madrigals sang for the large crowd. Holland invited the children in attendance up onstage to "help" him light the trees.

After Breidert Green became alive with lights and color, Santa and Mrs. Claus arrived by fire truck and heard the wish lists of the many children (which included a lot of laptops and iPads). Hot chocolate, cookies and a roaring bonfire also highlighted the evening.
