If you have knowledge of this dog’s location or if you have seen him, please call.
Contact Sim if you have any information that will help him find Jake. You also can pass along information to me, Frankfort Patch editor Joe Vince, at firstname.lastname@example.org, and I will collect any Jake sightings and updates here.
Also, BE CAREFUL when approaching a dog or any animal you're not familiar with. If you think you've located Jake, it's best to just keep an eye on him and contact the owner. Lost dogs are often frightened and might not think you're as friendly as you know you are.
UPDATE (12:36 p.m. Saturday, June 16): Dave Sim, who posted the original request for help finding Jake on Facebook, provided some more information about the dog and his owner:
Thanks for posting this. It is actually a friend's dog. His owner was in Frankfort with him when he was lost. She had both her dogs in her friend's dog run and Jake apparently climbed out of the dog run. Jake is from Willow Springs and might be headed that direction. He's very skittish and will probably run if approached. Best to call the owner's number.
Keep your eyes open for Jake, everyone.
UPDATE (6:10 p.m.Saturday, June 16): Jake's been found! Dave Sims reported that on our Facebook page. I hope to have more details later. Thanks to any Patch readers who might have helped in their reunion.
