Is Frankfort Ready for the Big Dance? A Local Radio Station Thinks So in its Online Bracket

As part of WTMX 101.9's Battle of the Burbs, the village takes on Mundelein. Read to find out how you can lead Frankfort to victory and into the next round.

There is no escaping brackets in March. Even when basketball isn't involved.

WTMX-FM (101.9) is holding its 2011 Suburban Madness Battle of the Burbs, and Frankfort is one of the 16 competitors chosen by the radio station. Residents are encouraged to vote online for their communities as they face off against other 'burbs in the Chicagoland area.

So where does Frankfort fit in? The village takes on Mundelein on Wednesday, March 23. Votes are cast through the Eric and Kathy Show's Scoop page, beginning at 7:30 a.m. and continuing for a half hour.

The Battle of the Burbs winner gets a chance to showcase their city at its finest. Last year's winner, Bartlett, overtook Tinley Park in the final round, and threw themselves a parade, complete with marching band and cheerleaders.

Given some of the lately, Frankfort could use a bit of an ego boost, so get out--figuratively speaking--and vote Wednesday. Frankfort can beat Mundelein. We're talking about a suburb known for having a Burger King that sold cocaine through its drive-through window.
