UPDATE: Frankfort Gas Station Sells 2nd Place Powerball Ticket

No one has claimed the ticket worth $200K a week after the drawing.

UPDATED (10:22 a.m.)

A second-place Powerball ticket worth $200,000 was sold in Frankfort, but no one is in a hurry to claim it.

The ticket was bought at , 16 E. Lincoln Highway, but the winner has not come forward, said Madonna Duncan, a spokeswoman for the Illinois Lottery. The ticket matched the five numbers drawn Nov. 24 but missed the Powerball and Power Play of 3 numbers.

The fact that a second-place ticket was sold at BP has been news to the people who work there, said Dorothy Gurosh, an employee at the gas station and convenient store.

"No one has said anything to us," she said when asked if lottery representatives had contacted the station. "Customers have been coming in and asking about it, and (the manager) hasn't heard from anyone."

Gurosh added that she didn't think the winner would come to the gas station to collect the winnings because the business can't pay out that much money.

Duncan says the owner of the second-place ticket has a year to claim the $200,000. She also said BP Connect should have been contacted about selling the ticket.

"Every retailer that sells a winning receives a one percent bonus of that prize," she said. "They were contacted to know they were getting a check."

The next Powerball drawing is Wednesday, and the jackpot is worth $95 million.
