Frankfort Faces: James Garner Picks Up Save for Youth Baseball Team

Garner, who owns a sporting goods store in Tinley Park, is helping out an Indiana traveling baseball team that was scammed.

, the owner of the in , is donating full uniforms, hats, sweatshirts, helmets and more to a Hobart, Ind., youth traveling baseball team that was swindled by its coach. Jeffrey Halter, 40, of South Elgin, walked off with nearly $8,000 of parents' money, leaving them with nothing to show for it, according to reports. "I heard about it, and I knew I had to do something," Garner, 32, said. "You just feel bad for the kids. They were left with no direction. This guy was really running the show, so they didn't have anyone to do things for them."
