Frankfort Debuts 'Picnic on the Green' Series
People can bring their own picnic meals, or buy boxed lunch specials from downtown Frankfort businesses.
The Village of Frankfort has partnered with the Frankfort Public Library to offer a new event—"Picnic on the Green." The new event is scheduled for Wednesday, July 23, July 30, August 6 and August 13 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. (live entertainment begins at Noon). The Frankfort Public Library bookmobile will also be on site for the event.
Families have the option of bringing a picnic basket with lunch items to enjoy, or to check with one of the many downtown Frankfort businesses for boxed lunch specials prepared specially for the event. It is suggested to call ahead to place food orders for best service.
“It is our hope that young families will enjoy the beautiful downtown Frankfort setting during lunchtime at the Green and then shop our downtown businesses. This event is another opportunity to explore downtown Frankfort and experience all that it offers”, commented Frankfort’s Mayor Jim Holland.
