Since 1978, this regional celebration of the Polish Revolutionary War officer's birthday is one of those traditions that define the Windy City and the surrounding suburbs. This holiday mainly affects governments and schools in Cook County, but here's a reminder of what's open and closed in the Frankfort area.

- Lincoln-Way, Frankfort and Summit Hill distrcit schools: Closed. Also, Lincoln-Way high schools will have a delayed start Tuesday.
- Village and Township government offices: Open.

- Frankfort Public Library: Open.

Where: Across the Southland suburbs

Friday, March 11Lincoln-Way School District 210 Asset Celebration
When: Starts 7 p.m. and runs through March 13.
Where: The Hub, 1303 S. Schoolhouse Road, New Lenox, and , 201 Colorado Ave.
District 210, along with Lincoln-Way area churches and park districts, are teaming up to present a weekend of entertainment for youths of all ages. It all starts at 7 p.m. Friday at the Hub in New Lenox with a Battle of the Bands that's open to middle, junior high and high school students in the L-W area.
