A Day of Remembrance in Frankfort

Scenes from Frankfort's annual Memorial Day ceremony, where the names of 619 deceased service men and women were read.

The Village of Frankfort held its annual Monday, May 30 at .

The sun was dazzling as the event jointly hosted by the village and Frankfort VFW Post 1493. The l band played patriotic selections, including "The Star Spangled Banner," "This is My Country" and "God Bless America."

Dignitaries and community members alike gathered as the names of 619 local service men and women were read in memoriam.

"Let us remember how fortunate we are to live in a free nation," said Mayor Jim Holland during his remarks. "Let us remember we still rely on our sons and daughters to defend our liberty."
