Summit Hill Junior High Red Ribbon Week

Summit Hill Junior High’s Red Ribbon Week was capped off on Friday, November 2, with a breakfast buffet for the classroom winners of the door decorating contest and for the advisory class that raised the most money for the Make-A Wish Foundation.  Student Council members were on hand to serve the breakfast while students and teachers enjoyed the special meal.

Mr. Chrusciel’s eighth grade advisory class and Mrs. Rodgers’s seventh grade advisory class won the door decorating contest.  Mr. Hagen’s class raised $56 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.  The school raised $176 by having students bring $1 to participate in Hat Day.  Students raised an additional $204 at a bake sale held during the girls’ basketball game on November 5.

Red Ribbon Week is a celebration of students choosing to embrace a healthy lifestyle and saying no to drugs.  Red Ribbon Week activities at Summit Hill Junior High included Wear Red Day, Pajama Day, Bring your iPod Day, Dress from your Favorite Decade Day, and Hat Day.

Summit Hill Junior High is part of Summit Hill District 161 serving the communities of Frankfort, Mokena, and Tinley Park.
