Both schools hosted a Spring Art Show this week that culminated with an Artists’ Reception and Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, May 2 at Lincoln-Way North and Thursday, May 3 at Lincoln-Way East.
“The annual Spring Art Shows are a great time for everyone to enjoy the artwork of many of our students,” said Phil Labriola, the art department chair at Lincoln-Way East and Lincoln-Way North high schools.
Each school transformed their media centers into art galleries for a week, showcasing some of the pieces students have been working on throughout the school year.
Visitors were able to view everything from jewelry and ceramics to photography and acrylic painting.
“The shows included artwork created in art classes during the school year and chosen by the art teachers,” said Labriola. “This year’s shows were a great showing of the hard work and talent of our students.”
