Looking to Trap Kindness, Smiles Included

For anyone that has been following my kindness articles, this marks two weeks into my mission of doing kind acts everyday for a month. I have been documenting the progress daily in the hopes of getting more people involved in challenging themselves, too. I hope it’s not losing momentum for and becoming too “old hat” for anyone else. I have been challenging myself and others to take part the best they can. It’s not about the most extravagant, doing the biggest and brightest thing you can think of, it’s about helping out where and when it’s possible and to make someone smile and enjoy their day a smidge more than if you hadn’t done anything at all.

This time my wee man and I worked on a project together for his classroom. A newsletter from his teacher informed us that a naughty leprechaun visits the classroom every year to cause some silly mischief so the trap could be instrumental in capturing him. We gathered the supplies from around the home and made the top hat trap to try and entice the crazy old leprechaun into it because I have heard that if you catch one they have to disclose the location of their gold. I hope we can all share! It turned out so great, and we had some fantastic teamwork. Working together is good for a laugh or one hundred. He was so excited to have been able to provide something for his class, and we helped to take a small burden off the teacher since we all know how hard they work for our kids.

As I tick down the month and the days to my birthday, I have tried to incorporate more free acts and also including the family in helping more, too. While some of the things might not work out for you and your lifestyle, work with what you know. You don’t have to reinvent the wheel to be a success.

“A smile starts on the lips, a grin spreads to the eyes, a chuckle comes from the belly; but a good laugh bursts forth from the soul, overflows, and bubbles all around.”
