Frankfort, IL: Local financial planners, Provider Group Ltd, are holding an event in support of Lincolnway Special Recreation Association. Attendees will learn about opportunities for people 70 years of age and above to help LWSRA build their new facility. It will take place Tuesday, December 6th at Panera Bread (11069 W Lincoln Hwy) in Frankfort and is to begin at 8:30am.  

People will be treated to coffee and bagels, and to be presented by Greg Zibricky of Provider Group Ltd at the event. Mr. Zibricky has worked on behalf of individuals with special needs for the Lincoln-Way area and serves the Lincolnway Special Recreation Association Foundation.

LWSRA has just received a Parks and Recreation Facility Construction Grant from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR), signed by Governor Patrick Quinn, to build their own recreation facility. Working 35 years and using local facilities for all programs, LWSRA will finally have their own home to provide social and recreational opportunities to people with physical and mental disabilities.

The IDNR grant does not cover all the construction costs for LWSRA and Mr. Zibricky has presented a great opportunity for people to be educated on different strategies to help the LWSRA.

LWSRA needs support to continue providing a multitude of programs including Special Olympics and adaptive sports. LWSRA gives individuals with disabilities a chance to succeed in athletic pursuits and work with teammates in a competitive environment while maintaining a healthy, balanced lifestyle.  

LWSRA helps create bonds of friendship that last a lifetime and give people with special needs a opportunity to meet and communicate with their peers, share their common life experiences, and to network together at over 200 programs a year. Founded in 1976, they work within the park districts of Mokena, Frankfort, New Lenox, Manhatten, and Peotone. The new building is currently 80% funded and LWSRA needs help from the local community to make their dream a reality and reach this milestone for the special needs community.
