The Lincoln-Way North High School Theater Company will host an evening of student-showcased one-acts for its winter production.
More than 20 students are involved in the 90-minute production, which will feature eight short scenes that vary from comedy to drama.
“The audience will have the pleasure of seeing an array of actors as they produce a multitude of one-acts,” said Lincoln-Way North teacher and fall play sponsor Samantha Korzen, who is directing the show.
She decided to produce the collection of one-act plays so more students would have an opportunity to participate.
“There is such a large demand to participate in the theater company,” she said. “By producing a multitude of one-acts, novice actors can work with their experienced peers. In addition, the students involved in crew have an opportunity to display their talents by creating an assortment of set pieces.”
This is the first time the Lincoln-Way North Theater Company has showcase a night of one-acts.
“It is apparent that the student body is eager to display their abilities,” said Korzen. “Everyone is eager to display their abilities.”
Show times are 7 p.m. Feb. 2-4 in the school’s performing arts center at 19900 S. Harlem Ave., Frankfort. Tickets are $5 at the door.
Among those participating in the show are: Leah Rutz, Breanne Peacock, Maggie Conroy, Shannon Wolfe, Abby Peterson, Nicole Collopy, Laura Rovak, Jack McGuire, Bri Kowalczyk, Bree Zyer, Billy Zeitz, Gina Quiriconi, Matt Prusak, Mike Balcerzak, Maddie Conover, Danny Vazaquz, Maura Alroth, Emily Ruzevich, Sara Ruzevich, Lauren Vitiritti, Kelsey Blank, Taylor Weber, Ray Love, Jack Quirk, Sarah McPhillips and Thomas Swierczyna.
